There’s a saying that if an ethnic restaurant is busy it must be really good. If like me you enjoy a busy place with hustle and bustle of people, a truly lively place that reminds you of home then you should visit Desi District at Frisco. I tried pani puri and it was so to die for. I learned that different regions in India serve pani puri differently. If you have never had pani puri with warm stuffing then you should try it. I also got an order of masala dosa and couldn’t get enough of its flavor. This is a really busy place so naturally the service is not going to be instant and yet the staff are friendly and polite. I enjoyed conversing with several of them at different parts of the restaurant (main place to order, live pani puri, live masala, chai & sweets) the restaurant offers regular meals for individual purchase and meals that are meant for large groups and are served on pretty large round plates, making the experience pretty unique. One of the items on the menu that caught my eye was “Bahubali Mandi“. I would love to return with family and try that meal. The restaurant is perfect for large groups and has seating both on the ground floor and on the second floor as well. Would certainly recommend Desi district.

Ordered the Paneer Tikka Rice Bowl for lunch and it came with plenty of food. I ordered via my works food app and it was delivered on time. The paneer was perfectly cooked. The sauce has a deep flavor profile and it contains the right amount of spice for me. if you mix the sauce, paneer, and rice together , you get the perfect combination of flavors. I highly recommend it and I will be eating here again.

The best place in Dallas for top-notch Indian food is definitely Desi District. Whenever I’m in Dallas I love eating here because the food is just amazing. The people are incredibly welcoming and the place has a unique vibe. I absolutely love their chai and the mandi here is next level. Their pani puri gives me the feeling of being back home they even make fresh jalebi! Desi District is expanding all over North America I guess I’ve seen their restaurants in different states, and whenever I spot one I make sure to stop by As a foodie, I always look for the best and Desi District never disappoints. Their hospitality is excellent and this place has truly won my heart!!

Good food. Little time for waiting. Would be great if there is a way for people sitting and waiting upstairs know when their order downstairs is ready instead of going up and down 10 times before you get your entire order

I recently visited Desi District in Frisco and tried their jalebi, chicken mandi, and haleem—everything tasted great! The jalebi was perfectly crispy, with just the right amount of sweetness, making for a delightful treat. The chicken mandi had beautifully cooked rice with well-seasoned, tender chicken, delivering authentic flavors. The haleem was rich, flavorful, and had a smooth, comforting texture. Overall, the food was delicious, and the experience was satisfying. Definitely a spot worth visiting for anyone craving good Desi flavors!

We usually go to Little Elm twice a month for their chicken cooker pulao and chicken juicy Mandi. This time, we tried the Frisco location. The chicken juicy Mandi was different in color and juicy thing on top of chicken is missed. However, the food was served hot, fresh, and in generous portions. The dining experience was good, though it’s crowded. Patient staff and quick clean tables.

Dine-in is self-service. Mutton Haleem, fried chicken mandi and mutton mandi were yummy! Veg fried rice and sugarcane juice were good too! You can buy groceries and halal meat as well. Restrooms are well maintained.
